iOS & CarPlay automation

Do you have a routine you attempt to remember when you travel?  For example, I set my vehicles drive mode to “Eco” (it doesn’t save mode, story for another day) and like to set my audio to a specific streaming service.  This solution is specific to those of you with ios/iPhone connecting to CarPlay on your vehicle.  On your iOS device, find the “Shortcuts” app. Choose the “Automation” tab at the bottom. Add a new Personal Automation (select on 2 screens). Select CarPlay from the list to have this done each time your phone connects to your auto. Select “Next” to accept the default action connect (rather than disconnect). Now you can add as many actions as you want.  Remember, you can always use standard shortcuts without automation. Then to start, just tell Siri “shortcut“ “shortcut name“.  Advanced features that can be very helpful!

If you register, it will automatically save your episode progress, and allow you to restart watching where you left off.  You can also use “The Chosen” app to stream to your phone.  Season 2 is available on the app. An excellent production which I highly recommend.  Bring the bible to life!
